INGREDIENTS

TWO ONIONS, CHOPPED

TWO TOMATOES, CHOPPED

ONE TABLESPOON OIL

TWO CUPS OF BREAD CRUMBS

ONE PACKET (500gram) SPAGHETTI, COOKED

SALT and PEPPER TO TASTE

In a saucepan, heat the oil.

Add the chopped onion and braise over a low heat.

Add the tomatoes and let the mixture simmer until it is cooked through.

Grease an oven-proof dish and layer it with half the bread crumbs.

(Make your own bread crumbs by toasting left over bread and crushing it with a rolling pin).

Layer with tomato and onion mixture, then with spaghetti.

Layer the bread crumbs, tomato and onion and spaghetti again.

The last layer will be just the bread crumbs. Dot with a bit of butter or margarine.

Bake in the oven for approximately 15 minutes in a moderate oven.
